What the score is set to do
The consortium sets the level to pick out a fixed share of the most able pupils in the age group, in the selective areas of the county, and says that qualifying is not a promise of a place. So the line is about a share of children, not a fixed number of right answers. The two tests are verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. Each is standardised, and the two standardised scores are added together. Two details from the consortium: there is no adjustment for sexLincolnshire: No sex adjustmentChecked 9 Oct 2026 against Lincolnshire Consortium of Grammar Schools. The source says: There is no adjustment for the sex of the pupil taking the test.
