Accessibility statement

Version accessibility-ro-2026-10.1Applies from 19 October 2026Last reviewed 18 October 2026

Draft for review

This describes ExamKind as it works today, while accounts and some other features are switched off. It is waiting for a final read by our solicitors, and the wording may change.

In short

We want everyone to be able to use ExamKind, including people who use a screen reader, magnification, voice control, a keyboard alone or other assistive technology. We are building examkind.com to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

Before launch, automated testing of 17 key pages, in light and dark mode, found no serious or critical problems. We will test the site by hand after launch and update this statement.

If something doesn't work for you, please tell us about an accessibility problem. We reply within 5 working days.

What this statement covers

This statement covers examkind.com: our public pages, tools and forms. It does not cover documents from schools and councils that we link to.

What you should be able to do

  • Zoom in up to 400% without text spilling off the screen.
  • Use every page and form with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator.
  • Use the site with a screen reader.
  • Use Reading options at the top of every page to make text up to twice the size, switch to a dyslexia-friendly font, widen letter, word and line spacing, add a cream, blue, green or grey background tint, and choose light or dark colours.
  • Read every fact's source as text, not only as a colour or an icon.
  • Send our forms without solving puzzles: our protection against automated messages runs in the background.

How accessible this website is

This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. We design and test every component against WCAG 2.2 AA, but the site has not yet had a full manual or independent audit.

How we tested

On 17 October 2026 we ran the axe automated accessibility checker against 17 key pages, in both light and dark mode, using its rules for WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 at levels A and AA. The pages included the home page, area and school pages, a guide, our tools, the report-an-error form and the page-not-found page. It found 0 serious or critical issues.

Automated tools find only some kinds of problem. After launch we will re-test the site by hand, including with screen readers and keyboard only, and publish what we find here.

Known problems

Our automated testing found no serious or critical problems. We will list any problems the manual re-test finds here.

  • Documents from schools and councils that we link to: we don't control these, but we can help you find the information in another way.

Asking for information in another format

If you need information from ExamKind in a different format, such as large print, plain text or read aloud over the phone, email accessibility@examkind.com or use our contact form. We will reply within 5 working days.

Reporting accessibility problems

We are always looking to improve. If you find a problem that isn't listed here, or think we're not meeting the standard, tell us using the form (choose "Accessibility") or email accessibility@examkind.com. Tell us the page and what happened. You'll get a reference number straight away, and a reply within 5 working days.

If you're not happy with how we respond, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) on 0808 800 0082 or at equalityadvisoryservice.com. In Northern Ireland, contact the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland.

Technical information

Our public pages are built with HTML and CSS and work without JavaScript. Forms use JavaScript, with WAI-ARIA where native HTML is not enough. We test with current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile.

Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared on 18 October 2026, based on automated testing on 17 October 2026 and our own testing during development. It was last reviewed on 18 October 2026. We will update it after the manual re-test that follows launch, then review it every quarter and whenever we add a major feature.
