School cut-offs
The latest lowest score and furthest distance each school offered places to, with the entry year. Schools use their own admission rules and sometimes their own score scales, so compare each school with its own past years rather than with other schools.

How the weighted score is built
The Medway Test has three papers: English, mathematics and reasoningMedway Test (GL Assessment, written for Medway Council): PapersChecked 9 Oct 2026 against Medway Council. The source says: The Medway Test is made up of 3 papers:

Each paper gives a standardised score, and the three are combined like this: English x 2 + maths x 2 + reasoning x 1 (standardised scores)Medway Test (GL Assessment, written for Medway Council): Weighted scoreChecked 9 Oct 2026 against Medway Council. The source says: English test standardised score | x 2 |
View the official source. English and maths count twice, so they carry more of the total than reasoning. That is why the Medway figure is much larger than a single test score, and why it cannot be compared with a Kent Test score or a score from any other area.
A line set by a share of children
The council explains that the tests are designed to assess about 26Medway Test (GL Assessment, written for Medway Council): Designed percentChecked 9 Oct 2026 against Medway Council. The source says: The tests are designed to assess the equivalent of 26% of children attending Medway maintained schools as grammar.

After the assessment, distance matters
The council says places are not allocated on test score. Once a child is assessed as grammar, each school applies its own oversubscription rules, which can include home-to-school distance. That is why the school table above shows furthest distances rather than scores. Each distance is a record of one year's offers, not a fixed boundary.
Appeals
There is no resit and no re-marking of Medway Test papers. For a child assessed as non-grammar, the route is an assessment appeal. Children assessed non-grammar can appeal to a grammar school named on the applicationMedway: Assessment appealChecked 9 Oct 2026 against Medway Council. The source says: An assessment appeal is for children who have taken the Medway Test (11 plus) and been assessed as not suitable for a grammar school.
