About us
Our independence from test providers and tutors
By ExamKind Editorial TeamFacts checked 19 October 2026Last reviewed 19 October 2026
In short
ExamKind is not owned by, funded by or partnered with any 11+ test provider, grammar school, consortium, council or tutoring company. We do not write or mark any 11+ test, and we have no access to real papers. We do plan to sell our own practice tools. We keep our information pages separate from anything we sell, and we disclose links between other organisations where an official source confirms them.
Who are we independent of?
- Test providers, such as GL Assessment, Quest Assessments, FSCE, CSSE and the SEAG in Northern Ireland, and the ISEB for independent schools.
- Schools, consortia and councils, who set and run admissions.
- Tutoring companies and tuition centres.
- Other 11+ websites and platforms.
None of them owns any part of ExamKind, pays us, or approves what we publish about them.
Why does independence matter in the 11+?
Families rely on 11+ information to make decisions that matter a great deal. Some organisations in this field have links between the people who write tests and the people who sell preparation. We do not think that is wrong in itself, but we think families should know about it. So, where an official source confirms a link like that, our exam-board pages state it in plain, neutral words, with the source.
What about the products ExamKind sells?
We plan to sell practice and mock tests built around each test format. To keep that separate from our information:
- our information pages are free and do not require an account;
- we never say or imply that buying our products makes a pass or a place more likely;
- we never use a worrying fact to sell a product;
- our practice questions are our own: we never copy or adapt real test papers.
How do we write about other organisations?
We describe other organisations using their own official statements. We do not run them down, and we do not use their brand names to attract search traffic. If an organisation thinks we have described it inaccurately, it can report an error like anyone else, and we will check our source.
