In short
Redbridge has two separate numbers, and it helps to keep them apart. The first is a minimum threshold that every applicant must reach to be ranked at all. The second is the score of the last child offered a place, which each school reports after offer day. For September 2027 entry the council sets the rule out like this. Minimum threshold score of 104; qualifying candidates ranked by total standardised score in overall order of merit within the oversubscription criteria (looked after, 45 pupil premium places, Common Catchment Area, then outside it)Redbridge 2027 entry: Qualifying ruleChecked 9 Oct 2026 against London Borough of Redbridge. The source says: There will be a “minimum threshold score” of 104 for all applicants. No one scoring lower than 104 will be added to the ranked list or waiting list.

School cut-offs
The latest lowest score and furthest distance each school offered places to, with the entry year. Schools use their own admission rules and sometimes their own score scales, so compare each school with its own past years rather than with other schools.

The last offered score
Because places are given in order of merit within the admission criteria, the useful history is the score of the last on-time applicant offered a place from within the shared catchment area, as of national offer day. Both schools publish it. Why the last offered score moves
It can depend on how many children sit, how they score against each other, and how many places go to the earlier priority groups before the catchment ranking starts. It is a record of where offers stopped in one year. A child just above a past figure may not be offered a place in a later year, and a child just below one may be.
Before you decide
Families do not have to wait for offer day to get a sense of their position. Before the council application deadline, families are told their child's overall position by total standardised score. That position is not an offer, but it can help you decide how to list schools on your council form. List schools in your true order of preference, and include a school you would be happy with if a grammar place is not offered.
