The test is the shared West Midlands Grammar Schools test. View the official source. Because the panel looks at the standardised scores before fixing the line, the qualifying score is a decision made each year, not a number known in advance. For girls applying for September 2027 entry, the score will be set after this autumn's results.

The gap between the qualifying score and the out-of-area figure is the useful part. Qualifying puts a girl in the running. Where she lives can then make a real difference: in each of these years, girls from outside the school's area were offered places only at scores well above the qualifying line. The school also publishes an out-of-area figure as at 1 September, after later offers have been made.
