How far offers reached
Each bar shows how far from Pate’s Grammar School the last child offered a place lived, under the last admission rule the offers reached. Up to five years, on one scale.
Qualifying is not the same as being offered a place.
Reaching the school's standard means your child can be considered. If more children qualify than there are places, the school gives places using its admission rules, in order. The figures below show how far those rules reached in past years. They are history, not a prediction: they change every year with who applies.
Applications and offers, September 2026 entry (Department for Education)
How many families applied to Pate’s Grammar School and how many places it offered. Applicants per place is all applications divided by offers. Families apply to several schools and not every applicant qualifies, so it is not the chance of a place.

Notes on these dates
Pate's 2027 page says no late registrations are accepted, yet it also links the G7 missed-registration route. Both are true in practice: there is no way back into the main test, but there is a late test in late January 2027 for those who missed registration; it leads only to the waiting list, not a place on National Allocation DayGloucestershire 2027 entry: Late registrationChecked 9 Oct 2026 against Sir Thomas Rich's School. The source says: Please note that the Late Test is to give your child an opportunity to join the Waiting List for your chosen grammar school(s). Regrettably, they will not be able to be offered a grammar school place on National Allocation Day, due to the timescales involved.

That last step matters if your child missed the test or was never registered. The appeals page we read still described the September 2026 round, so check the dates again after offer day. A realistic second choice on your application is wise, because many appeals do not succeed.
