How far offers reached

Each bar shows how far from Sir Thomas Rich’s School the last child offered a place lived, under the last admission rule the offers reached. Up to five years, on one scale.

Qualifying is not the same as being offered a place.

Reaching the school's standard means your child can be considered. If more children qualify than there are places, the school gives places using its admission rules, in order. The figures below show how far those rules reached in past years. They are history, not a prediction: they change every year with who applies.

About these figures

Sir Thomas Rich's publishes the rank of the last boy offered a place on national offer day. It is a position in the rank order, not a test score.

Past years are a guide, not a promise. Each figure is well above the number of places because every child receives just one offer: a boy ranked higher may be offered a school he placed above Sir Thomas Rich's on his application, and the offers move further down the list. The last rank depends on that year's cohort and on families' choices, so it rises and falls. All six years come from the old test; 2028 entry will be the first year ranked on the new one.

When we checked, the school's linked Year 7 appeals page returned an error, so the admissions policy and the admissions office are the places to start. An appeal takes time and many are not successful, so it is sensible to keep a realistic second choice on your application too.
