How places are given

Northern Ireland grammar schools give Year 8 places using their own admissions criteria, often in order of transfer test result. Strangford Integrated College's criteria are under Admission rules on this page.

Qualifying is not the same as being offered a place.

Reaching the school's standard means your child can be considered. If more children qualify than there are places, the school gives places using its admission rules, in order. The figures below show how far those rules reached in past years. They are history, not a prediction: they change every year with who applies.

Checked, source: Department for Education (GOV.UK), checked

Most Northern Ireland schools do not publish how far places reached. Read the school's admissions criteria to see how it ranks applicants, and what transfer test results mean.

More detail from our guide

We know how the intake divides between the two pathways, but not yet how each pathway is ranked when it is full. The college's prospectus and its own key-dates document could not be archived, and we found no criteria document we could check. So we cannot yet show an admissions number, tie-breaks, or family rules.

One process is clear from the college's SEAG page. For a child whose test was affected, or who could not sit it: Parents read the SEAG guide and complete an SC form (download on SEAG page). Special Provision for children transferring from outside NI, with more than half their education outside NI, or adversely affected by serious medical/other problems and who have not taken SEAG: SP form submitted to the Admissions Portal with the application; considered by the Admissions Committee for Stage 1 Grammar entry.Strangford Integrated College: Special circumstancesChecked 9 Oct 2026 against Strangford Integrated College. The source says: If you wish to register your claim for Special Circumstances, you should read the guide for parents and guardians and then complete an SC form which is available to download below. ... Ask the college for its criteria for September 2027 entry, which should be published before the transfer application opens.
