More about entry from our guide
Hampton writes all of its own entrance papers. It does not use the ISEB Common Pre-Test or the London 11+ Consortium test, so the school's own admissions pages are the place to look for the style of each paper. Most boys are assessed in Year 6. At that point a boy sits either for the First Year (11+) or for a Third Year place that is held for him until Year 9 (13+). He can try one of these routes, not both, so it helps to decide early which one suits him. Two more routes sit either side: a 10+ Advance Place exam in Year 5, and Sixth Form entry with its own tests in Year 11.
