More about entry from our guide
LEH has a Junior School and a Senior School, both in Hampton, with the Sixth Form as part of the Senior School. The Junior School is on its own site, Burlington House, on the Uxbridge Road. Girls who join the Junior School move up to the Senior School in Year 7 without sitting the 11+. LEH is not part of the London 11+ Consortium, so it sets its own timetable.
There are three main ways in. Girls can also apply when a place comes up in Years 4 to 6 or Years 8 to 10. The admissions team can tell you if one is free.

The school also asks for a reference from the current schoolLady Eleanor Holles School: ReferenceChecked 10 Oct 2026 against The Lady Eleanor Holles School. The source says: A: For all entries to the Senior School, we request a reference from the Head of your daughter’s current school in the November preceding the entrance examination.

The Pre-Test. The ISEB Common Pre-Test is an online test that many independent schools use. A child sits it on a computer. It covers verbal reasoning (word puzzles), non-verbal reasoning (shape and pattern puzzles), maths and English. Scores are age-standardised, which means a girl born in August is not at a disadvantage against one born the September before.
The Problem-Solving exam. This is a paper the school writes itself. It tests how a girl solves problems with words and logic, and it includes some maths and English. Letters with the exam results go out in December.
Interviews and offers. Girls who are invited back meet senior teachers on one of these dates: 26 January 2027, 27 January 2027 and 29 January 2027Lady Eleanor Holles School: Interview date (2027)Checked 10 Oct 2026 against The Lady Eleanor Holles School. The source says: Stage 2: Interviews 26th, 27th and 29th January 2027

LEH does not recommend tutoring. It does suggest that a girl who has never worked to a clock tries a little timed practice at home, so the exam room feels familiar. If your daughter has an educational psychologist's report, send it with the application so the school can plan any extra time.

LEH bursaries scale with income. The lower your income, the more help you may get, and a full bursary is possible. A bursary can also help with costs beyond tuition, such as uniform, the iPad, coach travel, trips and lunches. Tick the bursary box on the application form, and the finance team will send the online forms in the autumn. An outside agency then looks at the family's finances, which includes a home visit. There is no separate form for an academic award. Every girl who sits the entrance exams is considered, and interviews look the same whether or not a girl is in the running. For music, tick the box on the application form and add references from music teachers. Auditions for 11+ music awards run on the interview dates in January.
At 11+, LEH has two programmes in place of sport and drama awards. The Talented and Aspiring Athletes Programme supports girls who shine at sport. A new Drama Excellence Programme is starting for girls who love the stage. Each has its own form, and girls on the shortlist are invited to a trial day or an audition. In the Sixth Form, the art award is for girls taking A level Art, and the STEM award needs at least one STEM subject at A level.
