How far offers reached
Each bar shows how far from Urmston Grammar School the last child offered a place lived, under the last admission rule the offers reached. Up to five years, on one scale.
Qualifying is not the same as being offered a place.
A score of 334 or more in the Trafford grammar schools consortium 11+ test means your child can be considered. If more children qualify than there are places, the school gives places using its admission rules, in order. The figures below show how far those rules reached in past years. They are history, not a prediction: they change every year with who applies.

About these figures
Urmston publishes its qualifying score but not where the places ran out.
Two figures would tell families the most: the lowest score that won a top-scorer place, and how far from the school the distance category reached. Neither has been published, so we can't say how competitive the distance category is. When figures do appear, they will be a guide, not a promise.

Pupil premium here means a child the school receives extra funding for, usually because of free school meals or time in care. Note what the priority postcodes do and don't do. They only count inside the distance category, so a child from further away can still win a pupil premium or top-scorer place, while a child living in them still has to qualify first. A brother or sister counts only if already on roll at Urmston on the day of the test.
The waiting list closes at the end of December, earlier than at some Trafford schools, and you need to ask to join it.

There is no separate Urmston paper: children sit the consortium's shared test at a consortium centre, and the Trafford 11+ guide explains how it runs. The step that matters most for Urmston families is registration, because the schools you tick then are fixed: One online registration (Applicaa link on the school's 2027 entry page) at any one consortium school, naming the test centre and the schools that should receive a result; results cannot be shared with other schools afterwardsUrmston Grammar School 2027 entry: Registration routeChecked 9 Oct 2026 against Urmston Grammar School. The source says: You only need to register for the exam at one school within the Trafford Grammar Schools GL Consortium but you must state where you want your child to sit the examination and which schools you wish to receive a total standardised result for. Two Urmston categories hang on the score itself: the top-scorer places and the pupil premium places, both awarded in score order. If the way scores are produced changes, those categories could change too, so read the current figures as 2027 rules only until the 2028 policy appears. Taking part in a Local Review in the autumn does not stop you appealing later if a place is refused. Even so, most appeals for full grammar schools are turned down, so a realistic second preference on the council form is worth having. See the Trafford 11+ guide.
