How far offers reached
Each bar shows how far from Stretford Grammar School the last child offered a place lived, under the last admission rule the offers reached. Up to five years, on one scale.
Qualifying is not the same as being offered a place.
A score of 334 or more in the Trafford grammar schools consortium 11+ test means your child can be considered. If more children qualify than there are places, the school gives places using its admission rules, in order. The figures below show how far those rules reached in past years. They are history, not a prediction: they change every year with who applies.

About these figures
The only figure Stretford publishes is its qualifying score. It has not published how far the distance rule reached, or how many children sat, qualified and were offered places.
Remember that a high score buys no extra priority here. Unless an earlier priority group in the list below applies, a child well above the bar who lives outside the catchment still ranks after a qualified child inside it. Treat any past figure as a guide, not a promise.

Pupil premium, inside and outside the catchment. Pupil premium is extra funding a school receives for children who have been eligible for free school meals in recent years or who are, or were, in care; service premium is the version for armed forces families. Stretford uses it twice: Criterion 3: in-catchment pupil/service premium applicants rank after looked-after children and before siblings; criterion 6: out-of-catchment pupil/service premium applicants rank after in-catchment applicants and before all others by distance. In practice, a qualified pupil premium child in the catchment comes before brothers and sisters of current pupils. One from further away still beats every other out-of-catchment applicant.

Put simply, a pupil premium child in that band does not have to ask: the school lifts the score itself. Any other child in the band goes to the Local Review, the school's own panel, which reads forms from home and from the primary school. A score raised by either route carries an R after it and counts as qualified.

A Local Review and an appeal are different things. The review happens in the autumn and decides whether a child counts as qualified. An appeal comes after offers and asks an independent panel to look again at a refused place. Few grammar school appeals succeed, so put a realistic second choice on your council form as well. See the Trafford 11+ guide.
