How far offers reached
Each bar shows how far from Southend High School for Girls the last child offered a place lived, under the last admission rule the offers reached. Up to five years, on one scale.
Qualifying is not the same as being offered a place.
A score of 303 or more in the CSSE 11+ examination (English and Mathematics) means your child can be considered. If more children qualify than there are places, the school gives places using its admission rules, in order. The figures below show how far those rules reached in past years. They are history, not a prediction: they change every year with who applies.

About these figures
CSSE, not the school, publishes the score of the last girl offered a place at SHSG on National Offer Day each year, split by where girls live. These are past figures, rounded, excluding appeal places.
Inside the priority area, every year shown sits on or a whisker above the qualifying score. Outside it, the figure has moved around from year to year rather than rising steadily. One feature of SHSG's rules is the protected minimum for girls from outside the priority area: the last criterion always keeps a block of places for them, so they are not squeezed out when the area is busy. Within every group, the order is by score alone. If girls tie for the last place, one entitled to preferential consideration goes first, then the girl living nearer the school, then a supervised random draw.
