How far offers reached

Each bar shows how far from Colchester County High School for Girls the last child offered a place lived, under the last admission rule the offers reached. Up to five years, on one scale.

Qualifying is not the same as being offered a place.

A score of 303 or more in the CSSE 11+ examination (English and Mathematics) means your child can be considered. If more children qualify than there are places, the school gives places using its admission rules, in order. The figures below show how far those rules reached in past years. They are history, not a prediction: they change every year with who applies.

About these figures

CCHSG publishes the score of the last girl offered a place, and it gives each figure as a narrow range rather than a single score. It also reports how low the list reached by September, after girls who turned places down were replaced from the waiting list. All of this is past data: the score needed moves every year.

The figures for 2021 and 2022 come from CSSE's historical guidance sheets; later years come from the school's own offer-day notice and FAQ. For the 2025 priority-area figure, those two school documents give different ranges and even date that Offer Day differently, so we have left it as awaiting confirmation until we can check it.

The priority area is recent. Before 2025 entry CCHSG ranked every girl on one list, wherever she lived. Since then, girls from outside the area have competed only for the any-address block, and on recent Offer Days the last girl admitted from that block scored higher than the last girl admitted from inside the area.

In plain terms: girls with an EHCP naming the school, looked-after girls, and girls on pupil premium or service premium are considered first, but only if they reach the higher priority-group score (service premium girls must also live in the priority area). Next, places go strictly by rank to girls who live in the priority area until that block is full. The final block goes strictly by rank to any girl, wherever she lives. Having a sister at the school makes no difference.

Open days

Not published yet

CCHSG's usual pattern is a Year 5 information evening each June. We found no autumn open event for 2027 entry on its website; the open evening currently advertised on the home page is for the sixth form. The school's prospectus and a virtual tour are on its website, and the admissions team can answer questions in the meantime.
