How far offers reached
Each bar shows how far from The Latymer School the last child offered a place lived, under the last admission rule the offers reached. Up to five years, on one scale.
Qualifying is not the same as being offered a place.
A score of 700 or more means your child can be considered. If more children qualify than there are places, the school gives places using its admission rules, in order. The figures below show how far those rules reached in past years. They are history, not a prediction: they change every year with who applies.
Applications and offers, September 2026 entry (Department for Education)
How many families applied to The Latymer School and how many places it offered. Applicants per place is all applications divided by offers. Families apply to several schools and not every applicant qualifies, so it is not the chance of a place.

About these figures
Latymer does not use a pass mark. As the offers rule in the test section shows, the line is drawn at a rank position, so the number to watch is your child's rank, not a score.
For 2027 entry, the school tells families how likely an offer is: Parents told, usually in October before the CAF deadline, of the likelihood of a firm offer based on rankingThe Latymer School: Offer likelihood letter2027Checked 9 Oct 2026 against The Latymer School. The source says: Parents will be notified, usually in October before the CAF deadline, of the likelihood of receiving a firm offer of a place based on their ranking after all tests have been marked and age standardised.
View the official source. It is the clearest signal you will get before the council deadline.
We have not found published figures for the lowest rank offered a place in recent years:
With the test changing for 2028 entry, older figures will be an even weaker guide than usual. Treat any past number as a guide, not a promise.

How the ranking works. Latymer ranks children in stages, and the English paper only counts for some of them.
- First ranking. Not a separate test: English papers (sat on the same day) are marked only for applicants ranked 1-700 on the combined age-standardised Verbal Reasoning + Mathematics score (1-900 for looked-after and Universal Credit/FSM applicants); ties can mean more than 700.The Latymer School 2027 entry: Stage2 selectionChecked 9 Oct 2026 against The Latymer School. The source says:

In plain terms: maths and verbal reasoning decide whether a child's English is marked at all. For children who get through that first step, English then joins the total, and the final order uses every paper.

- Illness on the day: Illness: a late test will be arranged (absence must be reported by email to admissions@latymer.co.uk on the morning of the test; medical evidence may be requested; unreported absence is treated as withdrawal). The biggest change is that verbal reasoning does not appear among the sections listed for 2028 entry. That matters because, for 2027 entry, verbal reasoning and maths together decided whose English was marked. Latymer has not yet published its 2028 admission rules, so we do not know how the new papers will be combined, whether a shortlist step remains, or whether the music and pupil premium rules change. Please don't assume the 2027 rules carry over. We will update this page as soon as the 2028 policy appears. For more on the new provider, see our Quest Assessments guide.
