More about entry from our guide

More House has three main ways in. The youngest girls join the Pre-Senior section in Year 5, through a Taster Day at the school. The main senior intake is in Year 7, through the London 11+ Consortium. The Sixth Form takes new students in the Lower Sixth. The school has a CatholicMore House School: Religious characterChecked 10 Oct 2026 against More House School. The source says: Although More House is a Catholic school, the School welcomes applications from prospective pupilsView the official source heritage, but it does not choose pupils on the basis of religious belief.

Pre-Senior is the school's section for girls in Years 5 and 6, and it is a newer part of More House. There is no fixed deadline. Families can apply at any point in the year, and a girl can start at the beginning of any term.

After you register, your daughter is invited to spend a day at the school. The process has these parts:

  • a taster dayMore House School: Taster dayChecked 10 Oct 2026 against More House School. The source says: Upon Registration, your daughter will be invited to attend a Taster Day at More House, where she will meet with our Head and/or Deputy Head for an informal interview and complete two assessments in Maths and English.View the official source at More House

A Taster Day lets a child try a normal school day, so she can see whether she likes it and teachers can see how she settles. The English and maths tasks are written by the school for this age. The school's admissions page describes the same Taster Day for Pre-Senior (Year 6)More House School: JoinsChecked 10 Oct 2026 against More House School. The source says: Pre-Senior, Years 5 and 6View the official source. A Year 6 place depends on room in the class, so ask the admissions team whether one is free.

The 11+ has these parts:

The shared test. More House is one of the girls' day schools in the London 11+ Consortium. The member schools set one entrance test together, so a girl applying to several of them takes it once instead of sitting a paper for each. The school's admissions policy calls it the 11+ Common Entrance Test. Despite the name, it is the Consortium test, not the ISEB Common Entrance exam.

Your daughter can sit the test at her own school or at More House. The school's key dates give 1 December 2026More House School: Parts (2027)Checked 10 Oct 2026 against More House School. The source says: Assessment Test Date – Tuesday 1 December 2026View the official source. Selection Day for every applicant. More House does not use the test to draw up a shortlist. All registered girls are invited to Selection Day on 14 January 2027More House School: Interview date (2027)Checked 10 Oct 2026 against More House School. The source says: Selection Day – Thursday 14 January 2027View the official source. Each girl has an interview with a member of the senior leadership team. She also takes part in a creative task and a STEAM activity. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, the arts and maths, so this is usually a practical, hands-on challenge. Activities like these show how a girl thinks, works with others and tries out ideas.

The school also asks her current school for a reference.
